Azicip is a medication that originates from Erythromycin, with Azithromycin as its active component. It is prescribed for treating various conditions including acute bacterial sinusitis, community-acquired pneumonia, pharyngitis/tonsillitis, acute bacterial flare-ups of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, uncomplicated skin infections, cervicitis, urethritis, and genital ulcer diseases.

Azicip is effective for a variety of infections caused by bacteria, such as ear infections, skin infections, respiratory infections, and sexually transmitted infections. Azithromycin acts against bacterial infections within the human body. Additionally, Azicip can be administered to children for conditions like tonsillitis, strep throat, pneumonia, and middle ear infections. It is not effective against viral infections like the common cold or flu.

The most frequently reported side effects related to treatment with Azicip in adult patients were associated with the gastrointestinal system, including diarrhea/loose stools, nausea, and abdominal discomfort.

It is crucial to seek emergency medical assistance if you experience any signs or symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing, hives, or swelling of the face, tongue, lips, or throat. Discontinue the use of Azicip and promptly contact your healthcare provider if you encounter severe side effects, which may include: diarrhea that is watery or bloody, irregular heartbeats, chest pain, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), nausea, abdominal pain, low-grade fever, severe skin reactions, sore throat, skin pain followed by a red or purple skin rash that spreads (particularly on the face or upper body) and causes blistering and peeling.

Store Azicip at room temperature, out of reach of children and pets. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
